Overview of Facilities
Cerne Abbas Village Hall was completed in 2006 and is probably the best venue of its kind in West Dorset. Set on the periphery of the historic village of Cerne Abbas and within sight of the Cerne Giant, the Hall has two large function rooms tailored to suit your individual requirements and a modern, fully equipped kitchen with a serving room. In summer months, doors can be opened out onto a south-facing terrace and a lawn. The Hall is licensed and fully DDA compliant.
The Hall can accommodate Wedding Receptions, Conferences, Workshops, Dinners, Dances, Private Parties, Theatrical Productions, Film Shows, indoor games such as Badminton, and much else.
There is ample adjacent car parking available.
The Main Hall
The Main Hall has a capacity of 160 people seated in a cinema style or 120 when seated at tables.
The Jubilee Meeting Room
The Jubilee Meeting Room has a capacity of 70 seated in cinema style or 40 at tables
The Activity Room
The Stage
The large stage benefits from suspended lighting gantries plus wall lighting brackets and DMX controls. A sound mixing desk is available and mics of various types can be hired. Curtains front & back and sides with a side entry door from the Green Room.
The Terrace
The gated Terrace is accessible from both the Main Hall and the Jubilee Meeting Room. It is paved with natural stone slabs and there is a further safe grassed area with beautiful views over the old water meadow. See videos.
The Kitchen/Serving area
The Kitchen has a full range of facilities to enable catering for a full house and includes crockery, cutlery and wine and water glasses for up to 120 covers. The Serving Area adjoins the Main Hall and affords easy access to the Kitchen hatch.
The Main Hall and Jubilee Meeting rooms are equipped with modern audio-visual equipment and each has broadband connection with seamless ultra-fast Wi-Fi throughout the building.
The above rooms are also provided with sound loop systems. Fixed and remote microphones are available and a variety of input types is possible.
Use of this equipment is included in the hire charges.
