Overview of Audio Visual Facilities
The audio visual facilities were redesigned and refitted in December 2017 and February 2019. The new installation sees the switch to digital technology whilst still leaving legacy connections for compatibility.
Connections for the system in the Main hall are as follows:
INPUT technologies and facilities
- HDMI video and sound i/p.
- VGA video i/p.
- 3.5mm stereo jack socket sound i/p.
- XLR wired microphone i/ps.
- Microphones offered include lapel mic, head mic, handheld radio Sennheiser mic, wired Sennheiser mic.
- Miracast receiver (wireless visual and sound streaming from your Miracast enabled device).
- Bluetooth receiver (wireless sound streaming from your Bluetooth enabled device).
- Professional CD, DVD, BluRay player.
OUTPUT technologies
- High quality 6500 lumens Optoma 605 digital video projector, rear projection and large 3.5metre motorised screen.
This offers 4:3, 16:10, and 16:9 aspect ratios with automatic switching.
- Stereo sound from stereo sources e.g. computer.
- 5 channel Surround Sound for DVD/BluRay & switchable Sub-Woofer.
- Audio output sockets to allow recording of events such as speeches. (3.5mm stereo jack socket, & XLRs).
- Sound Loop for the hearing impaired.
LECTERN
- Adjustable reading light, gooseneck mike, sockets for laptop outputs and power.
- Long umbilicals available to allow positioning of lectern where needed.
- Lectern mic or lapel mic available
Audio Visual CONTROLS
- Wall mounted, fully digital, touch screen controls using an easy, intuitive, graphical user interface – no previous knowledge required.
- All the above controls duplicated on an iPad Mini4 allowing portable control of entire system.
- Simplified Remote Controls using the above, for screen up/down, projector on/off, DVD transport controls, Miracast, Bluetooth, all input levels and main output amplifier.
Superfast Broadband and fast WiFi
- Connect easily to our system and allow your guests to do the same.
- Ideal for video conferencing.
- Camera available to project a live demonstration onto the screen. Ideal for showing a viewing audience a close up of a detailed object or to view a complex procedure.
A QuickStart Guide for the main Hall is available for download here, but the system has been deliberately designed to be intuitive to use.
